The first headliners are Jason Greenhalgh (Q-Project) and Paul Smith (Spinback) who launched the Computer Integrated Audio (C.I.A) label in 1997 and the alias Total Science was born. Over the coming years, Total Science had releases on all the major D&B labels including Metalheadz, Good Looking, Moving Shadow, Hospital, Tru Playaz, 31 Records, Reinforced, Soul:r, Shogun Audio to name but a few, as well as releases under their own C.I.A. and various other imprints. They have release 4 albums, however, the actual number of singles and EP’s the pair have released is currently an unknown quantity. Their relentless yearning to create music denotes there are just too many to mention! CIA celebrated their 20th birthday last year with the release of a ‘Various Artist’ album featuring amongst others long time players Calibre, Break, S.P.Y., Digital & Spirit. Collaborations with Mako, DLR, Digital & Spirit, Kaiju and Onemind followed.
The name Foreign Concept has come to represent both a DJ’ing distinction and a multiform production style that synthesizes the sounds of yesterday and tomorrow in chord with the Critical Music ethos. In 2011, after forging a distinct sound of his own, the young producer galvanised the scene with signings to Shogun Audio and Commercial Suicide amongst others, before catching the attention of Drum ‘n’ Bass visionary, Kasra, with the dank dystopian half-time hitter ‘Mob Justice’ and was immediately signed exclusively to his label, Critical Music. The eclectic producer has consistently experimented in his music with a devout focus on the quality of his repertoire. After a series of ground-breaking releases on Critical Music, including his “Make Meals EP” , the title track of which Beatport placed in their top ten releases of the year, he unleashed his latest musical masterpiece - “Skit City EP 'in April. With a packed DJ schedule that includes worldwide tours and major festivals, Foreign Concept has truly cemented himself at the top of the Drum and Bass genre.
Zero T started out way back in 1998 as a fresh faced youngster at Dublin’s now legendary Bassbin Night, supporting the likes of Ed Rush, Matrix and Fierce. By 2001 releases were coming thick and fast on labels like Subtitles, Commercial Suicide, Function and Advanced. Zero T and Calibre met before his 1st LP was done through mutual friends and this led to many joint-ventures with the little genius. Later Zero T relocated to London, working closely with Bryan G and Jumping Jack Frost’s V Recordings Camp, Artificial Intelligence’s Integral Records and an LP for Total Science’s CIA imprint. After touring extensively, Zero T next steps included releases on Subtitles, Shogun Audio, Good Looking, Liquid V, Integral and Metalheadz amongst others. 2017 saw the release of the third Zero T album ‘Little Pieces’ on Dispatch Recordings, featuring guest appearances from Steo, DRS, Stamina, Villem, Beta 2 and Commix. He also released an EP on Lenzman’s new label The North Quarter and a batch of new remixes for Metalheadz, Dispatch, Soul Trader and several other labels. Making 2017 Zero T’s most prolific to date!
Phase is 22 years old, Belgian and has been racking up releases on Metalheadz, Goodlooking, Med School, Integral, Warm Communications, Fokuz and more. His dj-sets consist of soul-filled, rolling tracks which let him win the well-known ‘Sun and Bass’ DJ competition in 2014. His Metalheadz debut towards the end of 2016, ‘The Traveller EP’ with Villem, was a huge hit and is arguably what cemented Phase as one of the most exciting up and coming producers around. He has played all over Europe and gained support from some of the biggest players in the game, including Goldie, Friction, London Elektricity, Break and many, many more.
Three good friends decided they had too much in common not to start working together and Bredren was born. Not even three years later and they have released tracks on Dispatch Recordings, Proximity Recordings, Demand Records, Hospital Records, Break-Fast Audio and many others. Their sound is deep, dark and minimal, but instantly recognizable, and that made them one of K-Mag's ‘20 to Watch In 2013’. In the past you could have seen them hitting Outlook Festival, Sun & Bass and more as they have been playing all over Europe.
